President's Message

‘Tis the season for gratitude, for looking back and ahead.

Dear Wonderful Branch Members,

CONNECTIONS

As we start the final two months of 2023 amidst the turbulence that surrounds our world, let us reflect on the connections that bind us together. Whether you’ve been a dedicated member for years or have recently joined us, we share common motivations – to foster friendships, find a sense of purpose, and work towards positive change through our dynamic organization committed to advancing gender equity and education.

AAUW MH SHOWCASE

Our first branch showcase, held in September, demonstrated the comprehensive scope of our organization. Thank you to Program Co-VPs Nancy Altman and Doris Fredericks, who organized the event, and all who participated to make it a success.

FALL LUNCHEON and VIRGINIA TURNER

Thank you to Hospitality Chairs, Margo Hinnenkamp and Karen Macdonald, for their well-organized Fall Luncheon at Giorgio’s Restaurant. A special guest was Virginia Turner, the treasurer of the Interbranch Special Projects Foundation-AAUW Santa Clara County(ISPF). Although Virginia is a member of the Los Gatos–Saratoga Branch, she was selected as one of our 2023 AAUW honorees for the valuable service she provides handling our Wildflower Fund monies. She gave an inspiring speech about the history of ISPF and the fundraising work we do.

THANK YOU!

Lastly, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation and deep gratitude for honoring me with the Philanthropy Award for our branch. I hope you will attend the Philanthropy Night Gala to stand proudly with me when AAUW is announced. This event is a powerful vehicle for showcasing the important and impactful ways our branch makes a difference in our community.

Wishing you a wonderful Holiday season.

Suman Ganapathy, President
