Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)

What is DEI?

Diversity refers to all aspects of human difference

Equity refers to fair and just practices and policies that ensure all community members can thrive.

Inclusion refers to a community in which all members are and feel respected, have a sense of belonging, and can participate and achieve their potential.

The Morgan Hill branch supports and amplifies the national AAUW voice as “AAUW seeks to promote inclusion and awareness for all members to create an equitable, sustainable and inclusive membership reflective of today’s world.” This promotion starts with the national organization’s dedication to assisting local branches like Morgan Hill in promoting equitable and inclusive memberships.

AAUW Morgan Hill is facilitating ongoing conversations focusing on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the Morgan Hill library. Join in the conversation as we learn that diversity is more than just race and color. It is less about what makes us different and more about understanding, accepting, and valuing those differences. As Maya Angelou said, “In diversity there is beauty and there is strength.” Come and celebrate our community’s diversity. This program is open to the public.
