Climate and Earth Day andPotted Plants - Oh My!

The Climate Education and Action Committee celebrity-laden program “Climate Change is REAL: Where do we go from here?”  was an enormous success! AAUW and community members filled the library in anticipation of an enlightening evening. Amazing questions were asked by our Young Women Leaders and the audience.   The responses of our professionals, Kari Hall, Maddy Kangas, and Lesley Miles, were spot on. Everyone left with a lot more information about what is going on in our world and ways to get involved. Way to go team!

The Committee now has its very own logo (at left)  thanks to Julie Singh, our recently recruited graphic artist. Not only did she design our logo, she also created an entire brochure to put it on. Way to go Julie!

2nd Annual Community Earth Day Festival
Saturday, April 22

The planning of our 2nd annual Community Earth Festival is in full swing. Donna Dicker and Marian Sacco, both of whom did an amazing joborganizing last year’s door prizes, are out canvassing for gardening materials, including lovely potted plants. They have recruited Chris Hopwood and the Sunday Gardener’s interest group to get on board. (Warning:  If you have plants that are not deeply rooted, be careful who you let into your yard – these women mean business!)

CEAC meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. and meetings are open to all members.
