Doris Fredericks' Travels
On Doris Fredericks’ bucket list for twenty years and in the works for the last four years was a trip to Peru and Ecuador to see some of the unique wonders of the world. In April/May, Doris and her younger traveling companions enjoyed Lima, Cusco, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and four of the Galapagos Islands.
With the altitude reaching 12,500 feet in the sacred valley outside of Cusco and Machu Picchu, Peru was clear, cool and beautiful. Not to be missed were the Llamas, Alpacas, guinea pig on a stick, silver jewelry, coca tea .
For the second half of the trip, they traveled to Ecuador, going to the Galapagos Islands where they stayed on Santa Cruz and Isabela but visited two additional islands, North Seymour and the area of Tintoreros. They were lucky to see giant land and sea turtles, land and marine iguanas, flamingos, blue footed boobies, sharks, penguins, sea lions, pelicans, frigates, gulls and enjoy the wonderful beaches, ocean and warm temperatures. A truly fantastic trip.
