This Saturday AAUW Morgan Hill will be joining thousands in the Bay Area to present a unified voice in support of women and their reproductive rights in advance of the Supreme Court reconvening in October 4. When the Supreme Court rejected an emergency request to block Texas’s abortion ban, they effectively took the next step towards overturning Roe v. Wade. We are at grave risk of losing our reproductive freedom completely.

Saturday, October 2, 11 am – 1 pm, San Jose City Hall, 200 E Santa Clara St.

The call to action is clear and urgent.  The relentless attacks from Texas to Mississippi are ramping up quickly. Anti-choice extremists  are pushing for a return to  control of women, reviving old values and societal norms to the point of re-acceptance. The authoritarian agenda of reproductive control is fueled by misogyny and racism – and we must challenge it, together. As an organization whose mission is “advancement of gender equity for women and girls”, AAUW should not stand by!

You can either join us at City Hall (look for the AAUW Morgan Hill banner), or meet at the Santa Teresa Light Rail station to ride up together. We can easily take the 9:36 am train to arrive in time. (There are also 9:16 and 9:56 trains.) Please allow time to purchase your ticket; there may be a line for tickets.

• There will be no rally and no speakers at either the beginning or end of the march
• Please wear a mask
• Practice social distancing
• Bring your family and friends
• Bring signs, water, mask, hand sanitizer
• Check the weather and dress with layers and comfy shoes.
• Consider wearing an AAUW shirt or a shirt associated with women’s rights.
