President's Message
Dear Branch Members,
As our exceptional year continues, ‘tis the season for gratitude and felicitations:
Invaluable Community Service – Candidates’ Forums
Kudos to our incredible Candidates’ Forum Team: Jenny Redfern (who also served as mentor during the three forum AAUW/Leadership MH Partnership), Yvonne Randolph, Susan Rife, Marian Sacco, Janet McElroy, Janet Wright, and former Young Women Leader, Ria Deshpande. Their meticulous organization, research, impressive moderation highlighted specific issues and candidates’ positions at the forums. It has helped our Morgan Hill community make educated voting decisions and we are immensely proud of you!
Congratulations, Janet Wright, Our Philanthropy Night Awardee
On November 18, 2022, at the Morgan Hill Community Foundation’s 17th Annual Philanthropy Night Awards Gala, we will celebrate Janet Wright’s myriad contributions to our Branch and the Morgan Hill community. Let’s plan to attend to celebrate our incredible Branch Member! The link to the ticket purchase page is in this newsletter.
Wildflower Run – Join a Beloved Morgan Hill Tradition
The Wildflower Run Chairs and Core Team have already been working hard for months: kudos to Joy Safakish, Janet Wright, Heather Poore, Susan Persing, Elizabeth Mandel, Nancy Altman, Sandy Stoob, and Pat Toombs. The first committee meeting for our 40th Wildflower Run is coming soon. We need you, Branch Members! Articles are in this newsletter with information on how to help.
Kudos to the Membership Team, Leadership Development Team, New Member Leaders and Our Wine & Whine Chair
Our wonderful Membership Team of Sherrie Wren and Barbara Palmer, with Kathy Hansell, deserve the spotlight for their efforts in welcoming our new members. Personal invitations to events, and the forwarding of HelpWith forms to the Leadership Development Team and Interest Groups Coordinator has allowed us to engage them right away. Thank you to new members Harpreet Vittal, Ananya Vittal, Amy Martinez, Bobbie Erb, Alissa Crispin, Liz Panetta Melone, and Cindy Adams for stepping up to leadership positions!
Attendance at our monthly Wine & Whine events has grown in leaps and bounds. Thank you, Krisse Boursier for your fantastic work! It is the perfect opportunity to meet new and longtime members every month. We work and play hard, and that’s what makes our branch incomparable.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the December 3rd Holiday Party (details in this newsletter). I wish everyone a wonderful holiday season.
