2023 Morgan Hill Non-Profit of the Year

The March 12 Celebrate Chamber of Commerce gala felicitating us as the 2023 Morgan Hill Non-Profit of the Year was one for the ages. Just a week earlier, the Quick 5 podcast showcased our branch and gave us even more visibility. The waves we have made in our community have highlighted our important mission of gender equity and education.

40th Annual Wildflower Run

Our sold-out 40th Annual Wildflower Run on March 26 was wildly successful. The leadership of co-directors Joy Safakish and Janet Wright, and the hard work of committee chairs, members, and other volunteers made it possible. Shout out to branch member and 28th Assembly District Representative Gail Pellerin for volunteering as a course marshal and handing out awards; and to branch and city council member Yvonne Martinez Beltran and to Mayor Mark Turner for giving awards. Special thanks also to Corporate Sponsors chair Amy Whelan and Member Giving chair Carol O’Hare and their committees for their work towards helping to ensure that we are fully funded for our 2023-2024 annual programs.

Young Women Leaders Conference

The April 1 Young Women Leaders Conference was another success. Kudos to our Young Women Leaders and their advisors, members Bobbie Erb, Alissa Crispin, and Amy Martinez. Thank you to members Yvonne Martinez-Beltran and MHUSD trustee Mary Patterson, and to attorney and city treasurer Caitlin Jachimowicz for inspiring the students that day.

Second Community Earth Day Festival

Thank you to CEAC (Climate Education & Action Committee) chairs Margaret McCann and Margo Hinnenkamp and member volunteers for a successful 2nd Community Earth Day Event educating our community on matters of the utmost importance. We are respected in the community due to programs like this.

Our Greatest Treasure: You!

An exciting outcome of our branch visibility is the wonderful new members who have joined us. Welcome to all of you. Many of you have already taken positions of leadership, and I thank you. Each one of you is appreciated for becoming part of our organization. We are who we are because of our membership, our greatest treasure!
