President's Message

As our AAUW Morgan Hill year wraps up in June, so does my first term as branch president. It’s been an inspiring, action-packed year, and I’m deeply grateful to all who helped make it such a success.
Our branch thrives with an incredible variety of Interest Groups—book clubs, meditation groups, writing circles, social gatherings, and more—bringing members together around shared passions. But our real strength lies in our mission-driven work: promoting education and equity for women and girls. We offer scholarships to students from middle school through college, our CEAC team shares weekly insights on climate issues, and our public programs have tackled critical topics like Title IX, retirement planning, local diversity, and voter education.
Behind the scenes, a strong infrastructure keeps us going: Sunday emails, bimonthly Wildflower Newsletter, comprehensive website, and the committees that manage it all. And, of course, there’s our signature event—the Wildflower Run—a beloved community tradition and our sole fundraiser.
Listing everything we’ve done this year is a little exhausting—but mostly energizing. I’m honored to represent such a dynamic and committed group of volunteers. I’ll be reaching out personally to thank as many of you as I can.
If you haven’t yet gotten involved, now’s a great time. Would you like to gain experience on your computer and learn email design, manage social media, or mentor high school girls preparing for a one-day conference? We’ll guide you every step of the way, and it’s a rewarding way to support our mission while building new skills. Please email me to see how you can get involved.
Thank you for all you’ve contributed. Wishing everyone a wonderful summer—and I hope to see many of you at the 4th of July parade!
