The AAUW-MH Afternoon Books group was delighted to have a special guest at our September 28, 2026 meeting.  Lesley Miles, an AAUW member, Morgan Hill businesswoman, and the author of a memoir entitled All Things Hidden: A Witness to Paradise Lost, led an insightful and fascinating discussion at our meeting. She spoke of her harrowing experiences, as a young adult, teaching biodynamic gardening in a small village of Mayan people in Guatemala. Lesley brought artifacts, diaries, and her vivid memories to enrich our knowledge of the life she experienced. She reflected on her experiences of learning a new language and falling in love with a culture that was threatened by the military. The memoir was written with such vivid descriptions that we felt we were there with her climbing every trail. We thank Lesley for sharing her experiences, her thoughts, and her writing with the group!
