President's Message

As fall arrives, we welcome a new season of friendship, learning and meaningful service. Our branch continues to bring members together around a shared commitment to advancing educational opportunities and equity for women and girls. Our branch has been busy and I have so much to share with you all!

Congratulations to our Programs Committee for a very successful “Historic Women Of Morgan Hill,” a program in honor of Women’s Week. On popular demand, we will be recreating the program in November at the Morgan Hill Library.

A huge thanks to our Candidates’ Forum Committee, Marian Sacco and Denise Weyl (Co-Chairs), Julie Schartz, Wendy Thowdis and Evelia Rosso. Our Young Women Leaders andour amazing time keeper Krisse Boursier made our three-part Candidates Forum an outstanding program. Their teamwork, organization, research and moderation was impressive and it highlighted candidates’ positions at the forums and helped our community make educated
voting decisions.

Our All Member Meet-Up was a tremendous success. We had over a 100 members attend the event. We also had some of our Tech Trek Campers and Scholarship recipients and their families at the event. Hearing from the students gives us a renewed enthusiasm and a reminder of our mission.
Our kickoff all member event showcased our committees, interest groups and provided an opportunity to meet new members, and celebrate our amazing branch. Thank you to the Leadership Development Team, Membership Committee and the Hospitality Committee for putting this together.

And don’t forget to vote on November 3. Encourage your friends, family, and neighbors to do the same. Engage in meaningful conversations about the issues and remember to listen. It is not just a vote for our city and state representatives, but our California propositions require thoughtful evaluation and consideration.

The 44th Wildflower Run is scheduled for April 11, 2027 and planning for it is underway. This is our only fundraiser and it’s a fun way to be involved and make a difference. Our 2026 Run has allowed us to award more than $70,000 to local scholarships and community grants. Watch for registration information and volunteer opportunities to help make the event a success.

One of the greatest strengths of AAUW Morgan Hill is our community of members. This fall, consider inviting a friend to a program or interest group, welcoming a newer member, or volunteering for an activity.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the All Member Holiday Luncheon on December 13th. Thank you for the time, talents, and enthusiasm you contribute to AAUW. Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving and a wonderful holiday season.

With Appreciation,

Harpreet Vittal, Branch President
