The energy was electric at the Morgan Hill Grange on August 27 as we launched our first-ever All Member Meet-Up, setting the stage for an exciting new AAUW 2024-2025 year. A delicious potluck spread of appetizers, desserts, and drinks set the perfect tone for the evening. With around  85 attendees, the event was a resounding success, filled with excitement,  camaraderie, and a shared commitment to our mission.

President Krisse Boursier took the stage as the emcee, introducing the board and committee chairs, past presidents and charter members. She provided an insightful snapshot of AAUW national and California, and highlighted our branch’s achievements and this year’s goals. 

Leadership Development Chair, Suman Ganapathy, urged members to step into volunteer or leadership roles, and it was thrilling to see many sign up on the spot. Key speakers included Communications/Newsletter Chair Marian Sacco, Bylaws/Governance Chair Carol O’Hare, Wildflower Run Co-chairs Bobbie Erb and Joy Safakish, Public Policy/Advocacy Chair Susan Rife, and Allocations Chair Elizabeth Mandel, who spoke about interest and action groups.

The event, organized by the Leadership Development, Membership, and Hospitality Committees, effectively brought together both long-time members and newcomers. We were especially delighted that four of our guests decided to join the branch that evening.

This meet-up was a powerful reminder of the vibrant community spirit that defines our AAUW Morgan Hill branch. Here’s to a fantastic year of growth, connection, and achievement!
