Ice cream and information were the order of the day for the kickoff of the 2025 Tech Trek program June 1 at Villa Mira Monte.

Nine of the 10 girls our branch is sending to Tech Trek July 13-19 at UC Santa Cruz, plus five from the Gilroy branch and their parents, participated in the ice cream social. While the girls made snowball launchers using marshmallows outside, parents heard from Camp Carson director Doreen O’Donovan and assistant director Jeri Johnstone, with an informational slide show and Q&A.

After both activities were completed, everyone enjoyed Oreo ice cream sandwiches while mingling with other campers and parents getting some last minute questions/concerns answered.

Certificates and Tech Trek teddy bears were delivered to each school the following week so the girls could be recognized.
