President's Message

Dear Members,
I hope you had a wonderful summer filled with time to relax, recharge, and enjoy the people and activities that matter most to you. I had an amazing trip to Yellowstone National Park and then spent a few weeks with my parents.
This summer we participated in the July 4th parade with new panels on our float featuring beautiful art from our member Alissa Crispin and many members who helped out. We also had a very successful Tech Trek with 10 girls attending Camp Carson at UC Santa Cruz.
We celebrate the 120th anniversary of the City of Morgan Hill with the “Historic Women Of Morgan Hill,” a program in honor of Women’s Week. We have a three-part Candidates Forum in September. And I am excited to welcome our past branch president Krisse Boursier as our new Chair of Communications!
This being an election year, let’s remind ourselves that our mission, goals, and work are non-partisan. As AAUW members, we engage with issues without regard to which political parties are involved or their positions, and we engage with public officials without regard to their party affiliations.
I encourage each of us to stay engaged, bring a friend to an event, welcome someone new, and look for opportunities to stay involved in our organization. I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming All Member Meet Up in October.
Welcome back, and here’s to a wonderful new year for AAUW, Morgan Hill!
Harpreet Vittal, Branch President
