President's Message

As the days grow shorter and the air turns cooler, it’s clear that fall has arrived — a perfect time to reflect on all that we’re thankful for. There is so much that I’m thankful for – my wonderful family, the beautiful town I live in, my awesome friends, and of course all my AAUW cohorts! What are you thankful for this season?

Our branch has been busy – our September program on emergency preparedness received rave reviews, especially the section on insurance. And our October program on the U.S. Constitution provided valuable insights relevant to our times. Our Interest Groups continue to thrive, including our new Mah Jong group! Meanwhile, preparations are well underway for the 2026 Wildflower Run, led by our intrepid co-chairs, Bobbie Erb and Carol Ferri. Scroll through the newsletter to read all about it.

As we deal with today’s uncertainty about equality, our mission becomes more important than ever. All over, women and girls continue to face barriers to education, opportunity, and basic rights. These challenges remind us why our work matters: because equity and empowerment don’t happen by chance — they happen through persistence, advocacy, and community.

Our organization stands as a beacon of hope and action. Through our scholarships, mentorship, and educational programs, we are investing in the next generation of leaders — young women who will lift others as they rise. Every hour volunteered, every dollar donated, every story shared moves us closer to a future where every woman and girl has the freedom and opportunity to reach her full potential.

Thank you for being part of this mission. Your support ensures that our values continue to guide and inspire all we do. We’re not just supporting women and girls — we’re shaping a more equitable future for everyone.

I wish you all Happy Holidays ~

Krisse Boursier, Branch President
