President's Message

We’re well into 2026 and our branch is firing on all cylinders. Lobby Days is coming up from March 27 through April 17, giving us a powerful opportunity to advocate for equity-focused legislation. With elections this year, we’ll be hosting Candidate Forums in September for the School Board, City Council, Mayor, and Gavilan Board elections. Meanwhile, our Tech Trek and Scholarship committees are busy identifying and interviewing potential scholarship recipients, and our Community Action Grant recipients are already putting their awarded funds to meaningful use.
Our whole branch is getting ready to host the city of Morgan Hill (and beyond) at our Wildflower Run on April 12! If you haven’t joined a committee yet, there’s still time – we truly need everyone’s help. There are jobs before the run and on the day of the run. And don’t forget to contribute to the Wildflower Member Donation Fund – we are looking for 100 percent participation – any amount is welcome.
One of my favorite podcasts is “The Preamble” by Sharon McMahon. In her Feb. 16 episode, she said “… we need to stop thinking about hope as a feeling to experience, and we need to start thinking about it as a set of actions to take.” That sentiment perfectly reflects what AAUW offers—real, tangible actions, from supporting women and girls through scholarships to staying informed on equity-focused legislation and contacting our elected officials.
I encourage you to find an action that works for you, and make it happen. Together we can make a difference.
Krisse Boursier, Branch President
