Young Women Leaders Conference
Young Women Leaders Annual Spring Conference is Fast Approaching!
The Young Women Leaders group (YWL) is busy planning its annual conference for area youth. This year’s conference (the first to be held in-person since the pandemic) will be on Saturday, April 1, at Central High School in Morgan Hill. The conference is called “Being Me in 2023: Addressing Issues Facing Young Women Today” and hopes to host as many as 80 participants. It will feature a series of engaging workshops made by and for young women, as well as include a self-defense class and a keynote speaker. This year’s workshop topics include issues related to Women’s Rights and Health, Climate Activism, and Leadership Skills for college and beyond.
The conference organization is being led by a talented group of high school seniors who have organized committees including marketing, budgeting, and workshop planning to educate younger members on how to develop such skills for the future. They have already successfully applied for and received a grant worth $1200 and plan to apply for at least one more grant to help cover conference costs.
If you would like to offer your expertise to help ensure a successful conference, please reach out to Alissa Crispin or Bobbie Erb at ywl@aauwmh.org.
