Meet Our New Members
These short bios include information about our newest branch members. Please greet them when you get a chance and ask about their various interests and backgrounds.
Penny Noel
Originally from Kenilworth, Illinois, Penny Noel graduated from UC Santa Barbara Liberal Studies in Art/English Lit. She continued her studies at California College of the Arts Graphic Design. She is a graphics and web designer and has her own graphic design studio. She recently spent a year taking college classes to learn how to add illustration to her skill set. She lives in Gilroy with her husband, two dogs, and a foster dog. The remainder of the menagerie includes five chickens, one duck, and eight reluctantly rescued pigeons. She is on the Board of Directors for the Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center (WERC) and volunteers at the San Martin Animal Shelter. Penny is a returning member who has joined AAUW to meet intelligent, inspiring women.
Susan Rolin
Susan Rolin grew up in a military family and has lived in multiple states. She received her B.S. degree in Child Development from Kansas State University and moved to California in 1978. She was enrolled in the Multiple Subject Credential Program at San Francisco State University while teaching kindergarten. She has directed a Montessori preschool and worked for the Community Child Care Council of Santa Clara County (4C’s). Before retirement she worked for Gilroy Unified for 10 years as a pre-K teacher. Susan enjoys cooking, knitting, and embroidery. She saw a post on Facebook about AAUW and decided to join. Also, she and member Tammy Parker are friends. She has lived in Morgan Hill for 24 years, and her two grown children both attended Morgan Hill schools.
