What is the AAUW Fund?
The AAUW Fund is the overall umbrella that supports all of AAUW National’s programs and initiatives. It helps keep AAUW running to be able to fulfill its mission. It includes the Greatest Need Fund and the new Public Policy and Defend Higher Education funds.
The Morgan Hill branch helps support the work of the AAUW Fund (as well as local scholarships and grants) through member donations to our Wildflower Fund. (See Chris Hopwood’s article about how to give now to the 2026 campaign.)
Greatest Need Fund is the vital source of unrestricted support and is crucial to providing long-term organizational sustainability.
- Allows AAUW to respond quickly to challenges and opportunities.
- Enables AAUW to sustain core operations, advocacy efforts, program expansion, and critical administrative costs.
- Allows AAUW to adapt to evolving needs as it continues to fight for gender equity.
Public Policy Fund
- Provides timely, accurate, and actionable information about our key issues.
- Advocates on a national level for mission-related policy issues.
- Equips branches with information on core policy issues like Title IX, student debt, and pay equity.
Defend Higher Education Fund
- Enables AAUW to support critical higher education issues impacting women.
- Provides strategic resources to students, staff and faculty on campus.
In 2024 AAUW California members and branches donated $475,275 to the AAUW Fund. The Morgan Hill branch was among the top donors giving $15,300. In 2025 our allocation will be $15,000 to the Greatest Need and $3,000 to the Public Policy Fund.
