President's Message

After those many weeks of way too high temperatures, didn’t it feel wonderful to finally experience a cool, crisp morning?! I think Fall has finally arrived.

Sending huge thanks to Susan Rife for her outstanding leadership in organizing the three Candidate Forums in September – for her many hours tracking down candidates, promoting, and working out logistics. Thanks as well to her incredible team of moderators, timers, and hosts.

Our branch Showcase was a tremendous success, providing an opportunity to celebrate the many diverse groups that make our branch unique. Thank you to Doris and Nancy for putting it together, and to all the presenters.

The discussion continues on how best to manage and cover our expenses. Please read my update about the budget – we welcome any and all ideas from our members on how we can save on expenses, as we consider the necessity of raising branch dues.

And don’t forget to vote on November 5! Encourage your friends, family, and neighbors to do the same. If you can, engage in meaningful conversations about the issues, even when you disagree—remember to listen, rather than vilify those with differing views. When others go low, we must be the ones to go high.

Looking forward to the holidays and all they bring, including our November program on Brain Health, and our always exciting Branch Holiday Party. Wishing everyone a joyful season – and pray for snow!

Krisse Boursier, President
