Meet Our New Members
Welcome Linda Withrow, our 200th member, and the seven other new members who have recently joined the branch.
Former member Linda Withrow re-joined AAUW in September at a candidate forum. She grew up in the Bay Area, raising her family in Sunnyvale. She and her husband Mike moved to Morgan Hill in 2008. They have three grown children and seven grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with them, both those who live locally and in North Carolina. She loves getting together with family and friends, good food and games; gardening is also favorite pastime. Linda is an active volunteer with the MH Historical Society, and appreciates the work AAUW does locally and nationally for women and girls.
Alicia Ahmadzadeh grew up in Salinas, is a graduate of UC Davis, and lived in Walnut Creek for many years before moving to Morgan Hill in 2004. Alicia and her husband Amir have two children, a 22 year-old daughter and a 19 year-old son. Alicia has numerous interests and hobbies, from cooking, reading, playing pickleball, decorating, gardening and travel to walking, meeting new people, entertaining, learning new things, and wine tasting. A recent empty nester, her interest in joining a dynamic group of active, educated women together with her commitment giving back to her community led her to join AAUW.
Linda Bearie grew up in San Jose and received her BA in English and her teaching credential at SJ State. She later earned her MA in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling at Santa Clara University. Linda taught English and was assistant principal at Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose. She worked in the Diocese of San Jose as Human Resources Director, retiring in 2012. Linda and her husband Ken moved to Morgan Hill in 2021. They have six sons, daughters-in-law, and sixteen grandchildren who keep them busy! Linda is looking for social and volunteer opportunities in AAUW.
Jen Cheadle is originally from San Jose, a graduate of San Jose State University, and has a teaching credential from National University. She has lived in Morgan Hill for over 30 years. Her parents also live in Morgan Hill. Jen and her husband just celebrated their 20th anniversary and love spending time with Louie, their rescue dog. Jen enjoys cooking, eating great food, reading, wine tasting, travel, pickleball, and hiking. She shares AAUW’s commitment to equal rights for all women and sees mentorship as a way of giving back to her community.
Suzanne Farzaneh grew up in Seattle, earning her BA in Business Administration at Central WA University and her MA in Organizational Development at Pepperdine University. She has lived in Morgan Hill for seven years with her husband and two cats. She is the Human Resources director for Toray Advanced Composites (a sponsor of our Wildflower Run). A favorite pastime is enjoying the many open spaces and parks in Santa Clara County. She enjoys good wine and wine tasting at our local wineries. Her focus in joining AAUW is to mentor young women to become leaders in their careers.
Kathy Kellerman is originally from San Jose. She has a BA degree from UC Santa Barbara and a teaching certificate from SF State. She lived in Merced for more than 30 years and is enjoying returning to the area, especially since family lives locally. She has two grown children, a daughter at home and a son working in England. Gardening is a favorite pastime, and she loves to hike. She has also recently taken up knitting and painting. A retired teacher, she is looking forward to becoming involved with the community and getting to know others living in the area.

She has a BS in Aerospace Engineering from UCLA and currently works at the Morgan Hill Unified School District. She has two sons, and her family lives locally. In her spare time, Sharon likes to paint, garden, read, bike and hike. When member Margo Hinnenkamp told her about our Morgan Hill branch, Sharon was excited to join AAUW and find new opportunities and other women to encourage her to discover her passions in life.
Terry Rounds has lived in Morgan Hill since 1997. She has a BS degree in accounting from Santa Clara University and was a teacher at Live Oak High School before retiring. Her two adult children graduated from Live Oak as well. Terry is an enthusiastic chef, and she loves to travel and read sci-fi and fantasy. Only recently retired, she says that her future plans are still TBD. Terry met her husband Kent at their ten-year college reunion; they have an upcoming trip to Italy to celebrate their 34th anniversary. She was encouraged to join AAUW by Krisse Boursier.
