Newsletter: 4th annual Earth Day Festival

…and ‘Choose to Reuse’ Campaign Kick-Off!

Over the past few years, the Climate Education and Action Committee (CEAC) has made incredible strides, thanks to the support of our forward-thinking branch, which recognizes the profound impact climate change has on women and girls.

One major success has been establishing a strong working relationship with the city’s environmental department. Through this collaboration we actively contributed to the development of the city’s Climate Action Plan (CAP), ensuring sustainability remains a top priority.

Now, we are excited to invite you to AAUW’s 4th annual Earth Day Festival—a fun-filled event focused on eco-friendly education, community engagement, and sustainability! This electrifying festival will take place on Saturday, April 26, at the Community and Cultural Center.

In addition, with support from the City and the Farmers Market Association, we are launching the “Choose to Reuse” campaign. This initiative aims to raise awareness about the environmental damage caused by single-use plastics and highlight simple ways our community can reverse this trend in Morgan Hill.

What to expect at this year’s festival

  • Live music
  • “Fleurs” annual plant sale
  • Eco-friendly vendors
  • Fun activities for all ages
  • Food trucks
  • Silicon Valley Clean Energy’s “Dream House” exhibit, where visitors can explore and interact with electric appliances and energy-efficient technology.
  • Hands-on workshops on composting, recycling, and energy conservation.

For the little ones, the kids’ area will feature WERK (Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center) face painting, and craft stations, while adults can discover sustainable products and services from local vendors.

Mark your calendars!

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to celebrate our 4th annual Earth Day and participate in the “Choose to Reuse” campaign.
